Welcome
As a vibrant, cosmopolitan university Oxford Brookes has lots to offer. On site we have modern accommodation, plenty of computers and specialist equipment, excellent libraries and a great sports centre. But we can give you far more than that.
This is a friendly and supportive university, adept at welcoming students from a range of backgrounds, from all around the world. We will provide you with support when and where you need it, and help you to get as much out of your time with us as you possibly can.
Oxford Brookes is all about giving you a first class education. As Brookes' Chancellor I am proud that we have been rated as one of the UK's top twenty five universities (The Guardian University Guide 2003) and I am pleased that for eight years in succession we have been judged top new university (The Times Good University Guide 2003). And our success has a real impact on our students. In The Times University Guide's Best for Jobs table we have been ranked eighth in the percentage of graduates who go on to graduate-type employment.
I hope that you will decide to experience Oxford Brookes University for yourself and look forward to welcoming you to our thriving international student community.

The History of Oxford Brookes University
Oxford Brookes University can trace its roots back to 1865 with the foundation of the Oxford School of Art. In 1928 the visionary John Brookes was appointed as Vice-Principal. The institution developed to offer new areas of study such as architecture, sciences and catering; establishing itself as Oxford's only polytechnic. In 1992, under government legislation, the polytechnic became Oxford Brookes University. Since this date we have continued to enjoy outstanding success.
A number of independent quality rating agencies continually assess all university programmes in the UK. By looking at the scores we have been awarded, you can judge this success for yourself
