Oxford with its libraries, galleries and museums, art and
music, is an ideal city in which to study the arts and humanities, and the
national and international collections in London are an hour away. The
arts and humanities are a major strength of Brookes and the School has a
national reputation for its undergraduate and postgraduate courses, for
teaching and for research.
At Brookes you can study many of the subjects that traditionally make
up the arts and humanities - English, Art, History, History of Art,
Modern
Languages and Music - but we also offer
subjects that are not available in other universities.

History Department was rated 5* making it one of the top research
departments in the country, closely followed by the English Studies and
French Department both rated 5. Other strong research areas include
German, History of Art, Spanish, Music and Art.
The School is one of the most important centres of education in Publishing, not only in the
UK, but internationally, and our history department is internationally
recognised as a centre for research and teaching in the History of
Medicine.
We have wide international links and an expanding programme that allows
our students to study at universities abroad as part of their degree at
Brookes. |
